Uncork a bottle of wine and take a seat on the private lanai facing the sea. In front of you, a meticulously landscaped, vivid green lawn leads to the churning, deep-blue Pacific. Just a few steps from the condo, you’ll find beach access to the golden sands and glittering shoreline of the Coconut Coast.

But, to be honest, many resort condos on Kauai—particularly those on the level of high-end Waipouli Beach Resort & Spa—can claim stunning views and beach access.

What sets this condo apart?

Simply: as an avid traveler myself, I worked to create the kind of contemporary, minimalist sanctuary I love to stay in—with boutique touches for travelers who understandably want beautiful accommodations to mirror their beautiful surroundings.

ORIGINAL ART AND MINIMALIST DESIGN

I’m most proud of the original art in the condo—ten one-of-a-kind works by the gifted San Francisco artist Ronald Chase, who combines painting, watercolor and collage to an astounding effect. Chase has been a working artist for the last 50 years, and has the national and international acclaim to show for it.

To compliment the art, I handpicked contemporary furnishings that are both design-forward and comfortable.

Epicureans, you’ll love the gourmet kitchen. Walk across the street to the market to get your meal’s ingredients and then have a blast cooking on granite countertops and high-end stainless steel appliances including a Sub-Zero refrigerator, Wolf cooktop and built-in convection oven. Or check out the resort’s BBQ grill for searing your fresh catch.

THE BEST BED YOU’VE EVER SLEPT IN

For me, an important element of good design is the eco-friendly use of natural, non-toxic materials and fabrics.

Like the bed in the condo’s master bedroom. It’s a king-sized platform with modern, clean lines and a handmade mattress by Haiku Designs (give them a Google for more info)—comprised of natural latex, organic wool, and cotton that all work together to conform to your body and unique sleeping style.

Then, the whole thing is topped off with natural, organic bed linens in cotton and Tussah silk, plus a set of organic, hand-molded Talalay latex pillows.

Seriously—you have to try this bed.

And don’t forget the advantages of three bathrooms. There’s one for each bedroom and a third to make sure no fights break out at shower time. Soaker tubs, travertine floors and walk-in showers make the en-suite bathrooms even better.

ABOUT THE CONDO’S LOCATION

Because the condo is set apart from the resort’s swimming pool and beachfront restaurant, only the breaking surf is your soundtrack. Not human traffic.

Speaking of the pool, it’s totally unique for Kauai and feels almost a part of the landscape. It’s heated, fresh-water, and has manmade geologic features like a lazy river, a pool with a cave, two waterfalls, 3 sand-bottomed whirlpool spas, and a sandy beach area for your little ones.

After a day in the sun, walk a few steps from the condo and sit down to dinner at Oasis on the Beach. This gourmet beachfront restaurant serves 90% local dishes and is known for their fresh fish, like the seared catch with sweet potato pureé and truffle vinaigrette.

If you’re itching to get out and explore Kauai…good news. The east coast bike path and bike rentals are just a two-minute walk away. Exploring on two wheels is a great way to take in Kauai’s beauty in a sustainable way, plus work off your authentic Hawaiian dinners in the meantime!

Another option: the beginning of the beautiful Mountain Giant hike is just a 5-minute drive away from the condo.

If you’re a surfer, talk to me and I’ll let you know the secrets (I get away to Kauai for my own surf break whenever I can).

When you get back from your outdoor adventures, indulge in a massage at the 5,000 square foot oceanfront spa at the resort.

Are you on the lookout for a cut above in Kauai? Please contact me if you’d like to stay at this contemporary artist condo at the edge of the Pacific!

It began with pleasant email exchanges with the condo owner, Vadim, and ended with four wonderful days on the east side of Kauai in Waipouli. Steering away form the stereotypical 'tropical' theme, Vadim has decorated his unit in a clean, modern style with ultra hi-end appliances and furnishings(Wolf, Sub-Zero, etc). Everything about the unit and the surrounds was first class...in fact, we would call it world class. Even still, it managed to maintain a warm spirit of aloha. We're truly in paradise. Six adults (3 couples) shared this two bedroom, three bath unit very comfortably. The CS Woo sleeper bed with a platform and firm mattress was extremely comfortable, as were the beds in the master(king) and guest bedroom(2 doubles). We all awoke refreshed and ready to enjoy fresh Kauai grown coffee and a breakfast we prepared in the well appointed kitchen. We were only missing a hair dryer and that was brought to us within hours of our arrival. Had we needed anything else, it would have been taken care of immediately from our experience.Snorkel gear, cooler, beach chairs, Bluetooth stereo speaker, linen, washer/dryer with detergent, shampoo and soaps...all provided. All we need were swimsuits, slippers, & an occasional visit to Starbucks or Safeway just across the road. Everything in the unit worked to perfection...nothing was out of order and there was an obvious effort to present it cleaned to perfection. The meandering pool with jacuzzi was fabulous...clean and not crowded. We barbecued two nights down on the pool side grills...perfect Teri chicken and steak. Sightseeing for either end of the island was a breeze and we timed it such to avoid any and all traffic. Airport? Just twenty easy minutes away and Costco just twenty five. As retired airline employees, we have been fortunate to travel the world and to see and experience many wonderful places. We just gotta say, this place was extra-special by ANY standard. We had a great time just relaxing by the pool, enjoying the sights(Waimea Canyon was picture perfect!), enjoying friendship, margaritas, good food, cards, and laughter. A++++++ on every level. We chose to eat out just once at Hukilau restaurant within walking distance, and it was excellent. Kauai is beautiful, this condo is awesome, and our memories are etched forever. We recommend this VRBO listing with our strongest enthusiasm...you can't go wrong! Mahalo nui loa!

The resort is beautiful, and this unit is fabulous! I just returned from a 5-day stay in the Waipouli oceanfront with Contemporary art. The unit is very tastefully done. It is located steps from the beautiful beach where we saw a monk seal beached, watched snorkelers and swimmers. The beach is swimmer friendly, which is difficult to find--easy in and out of the water due to a man made small reef, which also enhances the snorkeling experience, Vadim has provided amazing lawn chairs which we took everywhere, plus he resort has some lounges right on the beach--also, it is easy to find shade along this beach making it super friendly to those of us who can't sit in the sun without burning. The pool is unique and a big draw for young visitors. The barbeque was a social draw--a good place to meet with fellow travelers, The only downfall is the location in Kapaa where traffic can be a nightmare, but it also means a walk to Safeway, several restaurants, and the ABC Store, Oasis Restaurant makes the best Mai tai on Kauai, and the food is delicious and reasonably priced. Overall I highly recommend staying here!

This condo at the Waipouli Beach Resort was fantastic. First, Vadim's individual unit is amazing. It is beautifully decorated and has all up-to-date appliances and furniture. It looks like a model home! It has everything that you need for your vacation - washer/dryer, fully equipped kitchen, and a ton of beach accessories (i.e. chairs, cooler, snorkel gear, boogie boards, beach toys). For us, the fact that the second bedroom had two beds was a definite plus. The location of his unit is perfect. It is overlooking the ocean and a large field of green grass. It is also right around the corner from the pool, which is also probably the nicest on the island. Vadim proved to be a very trustworthy owner for us, as he responded very quickly to any emails I sent him. The location in East Kauai is great, as it is central to many things and right in between the North and South areas of Kauai. It was great having a grocery store across the street as well. I would highly recommend this condo to anyone who is visiting Kauai.

beautiful apartment with everything you could need. central location -- we rented bikes at the resort gift shop and biked north on the bike trail with spectacular views of the ocean. Owner provided a great Kauai guide book which really helped us plan our various excursions on the island.

This was our first visit to Kauai so we really could not appreciate the location of the complex in regard to the rest of the island before arriving. The area is great for restaurant accessibility and shopping. The biking/jogging path that begins near the resort is perfect but don't venture out before sunrise for your own safety. The resort is nice, the concierge knowledgable, the pool area has a little bit of everything(hot tubs, swimming, wading) and the restaurant is excellent. The condo itself was very comfortable for four adults and had a well stocked kitchen, comfy beds, roomy bathrooms, beach chairs available, lots of extras... The lanai had very limited space though. My only real complaint would be the ocean view as it was not a straight shot, just a view at an angle. Vadim was very responsive and accommodating throughout the rental process from beginning to end. I would definitely stay here again if we decided to return to the east side of the island.

This condo is great! We stayed here for our honeymoon, it was nice to have the extra room to spread out and kitchen to cook. We saved a lot of money booking this room, booking the same size room through the resort is much more expensive. The furniture/beds were very comfortable. All the beach gear (snorkel sets, beach chairs, cooler) is in the condo available for you to use. The beach at this resort is nice, but Kauai has a ton of great beaches to see. The pool area is great, really great for kids. Vadim, the condo owner is great. He responds to your emails really fast and easy to work with. Overall, we had a great experience and will be sending business Vadim's way.

We stayed in Kauai at the Waipouli Resort in Condo H205 for four nights in January 2016. This is a beautiful up scaled condo with everything we needed. Wonderful large kitchen and huge bathrooms. The condo was very clean and well stocked. Great beds, linens and lots of nice towels. We enjoyed the lanai with the beautiful ocean views. The Waipouli Resort is beautiful. We enjoyed the pool, beach, and just walking around the beautiful landscaped grounds. We ate at the Oasis restaurant,at the resort, which was good with great ocean views right on the beach. Pool towels were available to checkout at pool. The beach is not a great swimming beach but great to watch the waves and sun rise. One day a very large monk seal took a nape on the beach. For swimming the pool at the resort was amazing for families. We would highly recommend this condo. With a five star rating. And would love to come back and stay in the future.

There really is no way to explain how WONDERFUL of an experience we had this time around in Kauai! The condo was everything it was said to be and so much more. You are able to see the beautiful waters of Hawaii from every room! Everything we needed to enjoy a day at the beach was readily available thanks to Vadim. When we return we will definitely be going thru Rentini again and hopefully staying in Vadim's condo. My favorite place on earth is Kauai, Hawaii, thank you Vadim for opening your condo to myself and my family. It was a vacation enjoyed by all.

I can't say enough about what a wonderful condo and experience we had. First, Vadim was extremely quick in all email responses to all my questions. The condo was very clean and the pictures were exactly accurate. We traveled here June 3 - 11 as a college graduation trip for my two children. The space was perfect. The two beds in second bedroom were ideal for brother and sister. The beach was fun and we swam in it almost every day. The pool was also fun and the Oasis was also very good. The location for the condo was central to what we wanted to do. We made great use out of the beach equipment that was in the condo as we traveled to several beaches around the island. We didn't really cook much, as I prefer going out to restaurants on vacation, but I did notice all the condiments and spices for those who like to cook. We never had a bad meal at any restaurant. Our favorites were the Beach House in Poipu, the Kintaro Japanese Steakhouse in Kapaa, The Bull Shed in Kapaa, and the Smiths Family luau was also a lot of fun. My husband and I are planning on renting a condo for a month each year when we retire and this one tops our list. We definitely will recommend this condo to friends or anyone else. Thanks again for sharing your place! Mahalo, the Smiths.

A truly remarkable experience. It was our family's first trip to Kauai (2 adults, 2 children, 11 and 15) and everyone loved our stay at Vadim's marvelous condo H205. The view was picturesque every morning as we had breakfast on the lanai to the sound of the ocean and the sight of the colorful, native birds winging through the natural sanctuary located on the grounds of the complex. The interior of the condo is luxurious and tasteful, with ample room in the kitchen to prepare meals and comfortable furniture in which to relax. The bathrooms with their tubs and showers are huge, and Vadim was right: the bed in the master bedroom was so extraordinarily comfortable, we wished we could bring it home with us. The highlight for our 11 year-old was the lazy river and dual slides at the complex as he spent hours swimming in the water. Our 15 year-old enjoyed the 3 different hot tubs and watching the monk seals on the beach while quietly reclining and reading a book. I liked the convenience of the grills by the poolside as we often ate hamburgers, steaks or chicken at the condo. My wife enjoyed the cocktails at The Oasis restaurant and coming back from our day-trips to the coolness of our unit's air-conditioning. We stayed there for 10 days and found that the condo was ideally situated on the Coconut Coast so that trips that were made to Hanalei Bay, Poipu or Waimea Canyon were a convenient distance and were readily accessible by car. The employees at the resort were all very friendly and helpful in accommodating any request we made which helped us to navigate the island more effectively. On a final note, we felt very fortunate to be situated across the street from not only convenient grocery shopping, but in our boys' opinion, the best ice cream on the island: Tropical Dreams. Someday, we hope to go back to Kauai and we would want to stay again at H205 because Vadim's condo is the best unit at Waipouli. Thanks again, Vadim, for a truly wonderful stay!

We had a GREAT time at the Waipouli Beach Resort and the condo was perfect for us. We have been to Kauai more than half a dozen times and stayed all over the island. This trip was a little different because we came with another couple, shared the space, and I have more difficulty walking...getting older! I wanted to do more hanging out while others wanted to do more exploring so I chose a condo with a view of the ocean, quiet, GREAT air conditioning, and homey. Each couple had their own full baths...PERFECT! There was beach equipment that we utilized...did not have to rent any. Plenty of everything in the kitchen for cooking gourmet meals. LOVED the pool! Parking was great because I have a disabled placard. King sized bed was comfortable but needs to be repaired. The slats underneath are falling out. When we travel we bring our own media box and watched any programming we wanted to watch. shopped right across the street for groceries and souvenirs. I bought beads and made earings, necklaces, and bracelets while listening to the ocean from our condo. Kauai continues to be my home away from home. Thank you Vadim and Rentini!

What a wonderful place! The resort was picture perfect. I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone looking to escape the stress of life. This was especially great for kids, as they spent much of their time in the pool or family hot tub. The condo unit was pristine and well represented in the photos. Communication with the manager was seamless and easy. Our only problem now is figuring out how to spend more time per year in Kauai!

We stayed at this beautiful condo for 11 wonderful nights over the holiday season and we couldn't be more happy. Throughout the booking process Vadim was very helpful and quick with his response time to any questions that I had. Prior to arrival he sent out a very detailed email regarding the check in process including directions from the airport, map of the resort, access codes and some fun things to do around the island. We travelled from Florida with two kids... it was a long travel day and we didn't arrive at the condo until almost 11pm. I was dreading a long check in policy, but was extremely satisfied to learn that there was no "check in" we simply parked and went directly to our condo and accessed entry with the codes provided by Vadim. The condo was very clean and inviting. The housekeeper was great... she left some special treats for our stay and card in case we needed her services. The condo was well equipped with top of the line appliances. The beds were very comfortable. We were also very appreciative that there were coolers, boogie boards and snorkel gear available for us to borrow throughout our trip. Our only complaint is that we couldn't stay longer!!! we absolutely loved the condo and loved Kauai!!!

Nice 2 bedroom condo. View of ocean from side of building. Bedrooms met our needs with one King inn 1st bedroom and two queens in second. Couch and chairs uncomfortable as they have become so soft they constantly slide off the furniture. Couch small, cannot lay down. Actually two bathrooms, with just a third toilet not three bathrooms, as listed. Location good on mid point of east coast. Easy access to all sights on island whether North or South. Would probably choose south coast next visit with more sum and better beach. Beach here steep and difficult to walk along, but okay to sit and watch the surf. Pool area nice. Close to grocery for easy shopping and found Wahoo to be great food restaurant.
